(photo from the internet) Heading into the Runner's Expo in Boston, Saturday April 13, 2013. My youngest hopes to meet Kara Goucher, her favorite runner. At the Run Disney booth, she spots the finisher's medal her Auntie Sylvia earned earlier this year. OH MY! Kara Goucher (left) and her teammate, Shalane Flanagan! My youngest gets her wish--she gets a hug from Kara, and then Kara stops to chat with her for a while. What an awesome day for us all! We will never forget this Runner's Expo! I bought this mug in anticipation of being discharged from Physical Therapy, because my favorite post-run "recovery drink" is a hot cocoa. Little did I know how this would affect me just two days later. Patriot's Day night--overwhelmed by the news, the whole family went for a 7 mile bike ride. It was just what we needed. My shirt today. The quote? "Angels don't fly. They run." Tuesday, April 16 - running a mile as a family for Boston Who cares if it was raining--halfway home we had to stop at the park and play! One mile done--I have a long way to go, both literally and figuratively. But every race starts with the first step! Run on, Boston. Run on.
