Last Thoughts: Solitary (the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge)

“If one is lucky, a solitary fantasy can totally transform one million realities.” – Maya Angelou

As always, the Friday Edition combines a quote with a favorite photo. I tailor these to the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge theme, which this week is “Solitary”.

Somehow, when I published today’s post, my iPhone ate the entire entry!

It’s been one of those days…

Anyway, we are heading to a Boston Red Sox game, and I was mulling over how I could cover today’s challenge. In my imagination, I was trying to see how I could possibly get a “solitary” person in such a crowded venue as Fenway Park.

As we drove, I pointed out a windmill off to the side of the highway. My daughter immediately started cackling. “Mom!” she yelled, “how funny! We are going green… With a factory and four smokestacks behind it!”

We all laughed. But at the same time that solitary windmill is exciting. It’s good to see that, even in a metropolitan area like Boston, communities are making an effort to find clean, renewable sources of energy. How much better would this world be if all of our cities were able to do something similar.

I look forward to the day when New England is peppered with windmills.

Aloha!
