“We shall find in our troubled hearts, where discord reigns, two needs which seem at variance, but which merge, as I think, in a common source – the love of the true, and the love of the fabulous.” – Alfred de Vigny
.
As always, the Friday Edition combines a quote with a favorite photo. I tailor these to the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge theme, which two weeks ago was “Merge”.
Two weeks ago today, we embarked upon an Epic Mickey vacation–we set sail aboard the Disney Magic, cruising from New York City to Nassau in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay (Disney’s private island), and a full day at DisneyWorld (with Parkhopper Pass).
As we embarked on the first afternoon of our voyage, we were stunned to see ahead of us not just the Statue of Liberty, but also a fireboat blasting its water cannon in salute, a flock of geese pacing the Magic (see bottom of photo, above), and…a pirate ship.
Seriously.
My sister summed it up best when I texted her the pictures:
“OH. MY. GOSH. I’m having a ‘Wow moment’ and I’m not even on the ship!”
Aloha!

I always enjoy your pairing of the quotation with a spectacular image!
