“Summer afternoon, summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.” – Henry James

As always, the Friday edition combines a quote with a favorite photo. I tailor these to the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge theme, which this week is “Summer”.

Today’s photo is a bit of a dodge. I remember many idyllic summers in Hawaii when I was a kid, and so chose to do the challenge today with those memories in mind.

However, as an adult, I live on the coast of Maine, and the summers here are glorious.

If I had to choose only one state’s summer to experience from this point onward, I honestly don’t know which one I would choose. How lovely, in these days of easy air travel, that I don’t have to.

Today’s photo celebrates summertime in Hawaii. Tomorrow’s will celebrate summertime in Maine.

Two different places, over 5,000 miles apart, but each equally amazing in its own way.

Aloha!

  2. Two extremes … each equally lovely in their own way. Maine, I know … Hawaii I’ve only seen on pictures, but still.
This photo sure looks inviting :)
