Sunday Reading: Take Time for You

Today’s Sunday Reading includes a recent email message I received from the DailyOM, a website which provides daily inspirational messages by email.

The weird thing about the DailyOM is that it often seems to fit my life situations–what I’m learning about, dealing with, or focusing on. I don’t know if it’s fate, serendipity, or coincidence, but week after week, I receive DailyOM emails that seem to be written just for me.

This week, I challenged everyone to do something nice for themselves. At the same time, a DailyOM email came in which, coincidentally, or serendipitously, focused on how we do good for others at the expense of ourselves. It further explained why it’s important to bless ourselves with “healing light” as well.

Your Sunday Reading includes this DailyOM (“Send Healing to Yourself”), as well as one other that I found relevant: “Create a Soft Place to Land”. This DailyOM message is about finding a space, a “Landing Pad” in our lives, in which we can calm down, relax, and center ourselves against the stresses of daily life. We need that landing pad as our base, to help direct the “healing light” we need to restore ourselves so that we can deal with life’s daily stressors.

By now, I’m sure you know where my landing pad is. Of course, since it’s not easily accessible, I’m working on creating one here at home.

Maybe when the moving boxes are finally cleared…

Where is your landing pad?

  1. It’s right here … where I sit now, should I ever need one.

Sometimes it happens like that, what you said about serendipity or whatever it is. When I read this, I was reminded of the one episode in my life when this happened … and it’s a rather poignant one. I think I’ll try and write a blog about it … if for nothing else; for myself :)

Have you recently moved to Maine?

The photo is wonderful … I wonder if the people who live there ‘full time’ takes the beauty of their islands for granted ever?!
